XIIR 2022… What?

Been a while since any updates have been posted. All I can say is life. Things need to get done and don’t always have time to post updates. So here goes…..

I’m sorry this is over a year behind! Illnesses, injuries, and moving made it very difficult to get it done. I had the draft sitting in the folder for a while, just had to add the pictures!

XIIR… wtf is that? It is extreme indoor ice racing. When you receive an invite to the northeastern leg of the tour YOU GO!

So Jr busted his ass and put together an ‘86 ATC 250R in about a week! Gathered parts he didn’t have from friends, and in 7 days off blood sweat and tears he had everything ready to go.

Started out as a burnt TRX250R, harvested the motor and pieces that were usable, and put them on a trike frame.

Was invited to the North Easter leg of the race tour, I don’t think those that invited him knew what they were in for…….

So January 15 they head to Connecticut for the first race, and two night event. The first night was a disaster. While doing rider introductions William slipped and fell on the ice, smashing his face into the ice. When he got up he had driven his tooth into his lip and was in a good amount of pain. Later he said he had hit his head, was dizzy and probably shouldn’t have gone out to race. Dad told him they would pack up and head back home or to hospital which ever he wanted, but thousands of dollars were spent to go race and William wasn’t ‘wimping’ out.

He did great and took 1st both nights. He had a great time, minus the ice kissing. Once he got home he went to the Dr and had a chunk of tooth pulled out of his lip and antibiotics to clear up an infection. To this day he still has a hole in his lip from this.

The second race was held in Maine, and was only one night. He also did great there taking first place in the races there. There is a youtube video of the event if one were to search indoor extreme ice racing.
